Information about MiFID II
Information about MiFID II

Directive 2014/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 15 May 2014, on markets in financial instruments (also known as MiFID II), as transposed into Greek law by a relevant Law, Regulation (EU) No 600/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of 15 May 2014, on markets in financial instruments (also known as MiFIR), and the delegated acts thereof, make up the regulatory framework governing the operation of markets in financial instruments.

The aim of the regulatory framework is the creation of uniform rules for all Member States of the European Union. The regulatory framework governs all entities that participate in financial markets, such as, among others, investment firms, operators of trading venues, and competent authorities. The aim of the regulatory framework is, among others, greater transparency as regards the functioning of the markets, the strengthening of competition within the European Union and the provision of a greater level of protection for investors.

In the light of the above, investment firms shall, inter alia, categorise their clients based on criteria provided for by law, provide information to their clients on specific matters and inform them, where this is necessary, regarding their order execution policy.
