Derivatives in Greece and abroad

What are derivative products

Derivative financial products (derivatives) are financial agreements set between 2 or more parties. Their value is directly linked to the value of an underlying asset or index. They are used for hedging and speculation.

Derivatives are traded on organised markets. Their price depends, among others, on the price fluctuations of the underlying assets, such as shares, share indices, bonds, foreign currency or commodities.

The most popular derivative products are futures, options and swaps.

Who they are addressed to

Derivative products are addressed exclusively to experienced investors who:

  1. Understand the increased risk of leveraging.
  2. Have the necessary knowledge and understand the particular and often complex features of derivatives.

When you invest in derivatives, it is necessary to actively monitor your open positions and manage your investment strategy with caution.
